I like to draw. I can’t say that I’m an artist, but it’s my childhood hobby that I have yet to turn into a money-making venture. I thought that the rise of digital drawing can help me turn my hobby into a business, but I think investing in a digital pen and/or digital tablet is not ideal. Why?
I enjoy drawing on paper. ‘Drawing’ on a tablet PC doesn’t feel real. You can call me old-school, but pencil-and-paper is the best combo in the world – nothing can replace that, and technology can’t solve that for me, right?
It was. Not today. Enter Neo Smartpen N2.
N2, raising funds via Kickstarter, is basically a digital pen on steroid: It allows you to use it like the typical ballpoint, with one major difference: It copies your pen-and-paper drawing into an app – in real time.
Simply mindblowing.
Now I can draw on paper and I don’t have to bother scan it to turn it into a digital version of my drawing. Now I have 2 copies of drawings – or sketches, notes, doodles, etc. – instantly, and I can do anything I want with them digitally, for example taking my drawing straight to Photoshop, send it via email, bring it to my Evernote app, or post it on my blog. Nice.
What do you think? Is this digital drawing tool cool enough to have your support?
