You’ll find plenty of cool tricks on this page for boosting your home WiFi signal:
Don’t have an antenna on your router? Don’t worry, neither do I and this next video contains an easy trick that probably will make a difference! Go to a craft store and by some mylar sheeting instead of using tinfoil. I find with this trick that rather than boosting the signal per say, it actually creates a directional effect; blocking the signal from going to an area of the house you don’t want and instead concentrating the signal in the direct you do.
Not sure about this one. Seems like a lot of effort:

I haven’t tried this one either, but it looks promising. This trick is for boosting your wireless card. Warning: this guy swears a lot and burps a few times, so if that sort of thing offends you, best to avoid!
Personally, I always have an Ethernet connection with my tower, to minimize frustration with most things Internet-wise, but the beer can trick was one I used for a couple of years with an old Dlink crapper I had. The tinfoil/mylar sheet trick is also one I’ve had success with.
What have you guys done, past or present to maximize your WiFi signal?
