Tracking a package adds a high level of professionalism and accountability to your business.
How to Address a Package
When mailing a letter, it’s essential to label the envelope correctly to ensure it reaches its destination. This is the first step in knowing how to mail something.
A standard business envelope measure 4 1/8 x 9 1/8. If you hold the envelope lengthwise, the return address will go in the top lefthand corner of the envelope’s smooth side.
The return address should include your legal name or business name on the first line and the mailing address of the business on the second line. Remember to clearly print your city, state, and zip code information on the third line.
Next, write the mailing address to whom the letter or package is being sent. Below the return address in the center on the smooth side of the envelope, write the title and name of the sender. Leaves space for the lines below.
Below the recipient’s name, write their address. Don’t forget to include the city, state, zip code of the recipient here as well. Remember to use a specific directional if applicable.
For an additional aspect of professionalism, try using a label! Illegible, incomplete, or incorrect addressing information prevents your mail from reaching the recipient on time.
