Forbes only ranks her at #14 on their most powerful women list. However, I really don’t see anyone in the top 10 coming close to the impact that Oprah’s had on the world.
This is a really quick biography video, for those of you who don’t understand the hurdles this wonderful lady has jumped through to get to where she is:
Now here’s the problem I have with ladies like Janet Yellen, Hilary Clinton, and Michelle Obama being put in front of Oprah Winfrey: Oprah’s a real person, through and through. We don’t really get to see the true face of any politician or their family and I’m not saying that’s their fault, most of us expect politicians to put on a public face for us. They have to put on a big smile all the time and put a positive spin on everything that happens in their life.
Oprah, on the other hand, is as real as they come. She doesn’t endorse people or products because she’s paid to; she endorses what she truly believes in and people listen. Look way back in the 80’s when she started raving about Tony Robbins: Next thing you know, everyone loves Tony and he’s still the most popular life coach and motivator on the planet. Same with Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Rachael Ray and a host of others.
They rose to fame because people trust Oprah’s endorsements. So, you might be thinking well Janet Yellen controls the nation’s entire monetary system, so how does Oprah top that? Oprah tops all of them because if she wanted to, she could easily topple their public image and therefore any sway they have, simply by making a statement telling people she doesn’t trust them.
Oprah’s the female Dalai Lama as far as I’m concerned!
