I’m always amazed how brands can travel far and wide – thanks to clients, brand evangelists, bloggers, and haters.
This time, I discovered yet another “stealthy” brand marketing done by someone for a particular brand. Here’s one good example: Have you watched Rhett & Link’s videos? They are smart and hilarious.
They’ve done it again – this time, they are on to Amazon. The video series is called “Slamazon”, and this video is on customer reviews on T-shirts sold on Amazon.
I never thought of it: What do Amazon product reviews look like when they are personified? This is epic – if you care about your brand reputation – and always anxious about what haters think of your brand, here’s a good therapy for you:
‘Love the ninja T-shirt, by the way, although I’m not sure I gonna wear that. But Rhett & Link’s video makes me wanna buy it for some reason!
Now, I’m not sure whether the video is endorsed by Amazon, but I think the video benefits Amazon in certain ways. Having someone making fun of your brand and products sucks – but if you think about it for a minute or two, you will realize that – good or bad – the things people say about you on social media is beneficial for you and your brand.
500,000 views on a video with your brand name, and without you paying anything for it: Priceless.
