1. Revenge:
Hey, we all know this is an ethically-ambiguous way to motivate oneself to be successful. But hey, we’ve all thought about it, many of us have done it or wanted to do it. Go out and show the haters and others who’ve done you wrong how resilient you are!
2. Spend, Spend, Spend:
If you don’t have the money to spend, you better start saving. It’s true, you have to act (including spend) like a big business or you’ll never get there. If your expenses help your business, they can be written off (no Lambo or Ferrari’s though — yet!) Put money into your business cause you believe in what you’re doing and are passionate about it. Will Smith has famously said: “Whatever your dream is, every extra penny you have needs to be going to that.”
3. Learn From Successful People (this is paraphrased of course!)
Hey, Pat’s delivering his great advice under the guise of giving bad business advice, so we have to forgive the drug dealer reference. Really, they do have the perfect business model:
- Product that customers are passionate about.
- Drugs are an exclusive product (you can’t buy most of them at the store/pharmacy).
- Addicts are magnetically drawn to the dealers who sell the best product.
So, you can definitely learn from successful drug dealers, but stick with legal products please. Murder, jail, destroying people’s lives — that’s not doing anyone any favors…
