While some experts will tell you that incantations and positive affirmations are a bunch of bunk, the psychology behind using them certainly is not.
Think about how a person’s confidence is destroyed, or perhaps never even forms at all. It isn’t because we’re born that way, is it?
Lack of confidence, shyness, lack of drive, needing approval of others, being inwardly motivated — these are all traits developed, lost, or never cultivated based on:
- Either positive or negative social interactions.
- The tone of the thoughts running rampant in our head.
If you tell yourself you’re a nobody, going nowhere in life a thousand times or more, then that’s where you’re going. These are negative affirmations, programming your brain to fail.
Using that same method, but using positive affirmations, I just can’t see how all that positivity can’t be a benefit.
