The data shared in this video is very relevant to anyone (male or female) who works in a professional atmosphere around women:
The question I’m left with is this: what’s the benefit gained when women use “uptalk” around their coworkers — even subordinates?
I could make assumptions, but I’d love to hear what you guys think.
If you’re a woman: do you find yourself (purposefully or otherwise) acting a little more meek or humble when you get positive feedback about your ideas or general knowledge?
Men: do you know a woman or women who you’ve met on a professional level who seem a little too nonchalant with their successes?
