We need more people who care about the environment; people like Richard Branson. His pledge to combat carbon emissions have put him as one of the frontrunning billionaires who is passionate about going green.
“But he own Virgin Atlantic, and airlines are one of the ‘dirtiest’ businesses in the world!” you say. Well, Sir Richard Branson acknowledges it and to me, what’s important is what he is going to do about that.
No, he won’t close down his Virgin Atlantic – that’s not ideal – but what he does is admirable: Setting up a war room – The Carbon War Room – to strategize the war on carbon emissions.
The idea is not to punish and close down businesses, but to collaborate to find ways to remove carbon emissions out of industries that produce huge amount of carbon.
Sir Richard has set an example by using an algae-based fuel, as well as isobutanol-based fuel for his Virgin Atlantic.
Well done, Sir Richard, well done!
